Worcestershire Pork Spareribs

Not just for the steak house, the bold flavor of Worcestershire sauce make these spicy, dark pork spareribs tender and full of flavor.

Recipe makes 4 servings

  • 1 1/4 pounds pork spareribs
  • 1/2 cup tomato paste
  • 1/2 cup Worcestershire sauce
  • 2 teaspoons hot pepper sauce
  • 1/4 cup golden syrup
  • salt and pepper
  • 1 sweet red pepper, cut into strips
  • 1 thinly sliced onion

  1. Preheat oven to 375 degrees F (190 degrees C). Cover a roasting pan with aluminum foil. Place the pork spareribs into the prepared pan.
  2. Generously salt and pepper each side of the ribs. Bake ribs in oven for 20 minutes, turning ribs once. Remove and drain off fat. While the ribs are baking, stir together the tomato paste, Worcestershire sauce, hot pepper sauce, and golden syrup in a bowl. Drizzle the sauce over the pork ribs.
  3. Return ribs to oven, and bake 30 minutes more. Remove from oven, and spread the red pepper and onions over the ribs. Return ribs to oven, and bake an additional 10 minutes.
